Last week, EL students visited the Art Institute of Chicago. This was a culminating project after studying Georgia O'Keeffe for Women's History month, but it really turned into so much more. Students completed a scavenger hunt, using a map and answering questions about each piece of art. The last section of the scavenger hunt encouraged students to explore the museum, sketch a piece of their choosing and write about why they chose this piece. The students became so engaged as they explored the vast collection and were thrilled to see art from their home countries.
