Calling all sports lovers and players! We are looking for sports equipment and/or guest speakers/instructors who might be interested in discussing a/various sports with 6th, 7th and 8th graders from 2:45 to 3:45 on Wednesday. Students have expressed interest in: basketball, football, badminton/tennis/ping pong, baseball, cricket, karate, relay races, soccer, field hockey, etc. The objective is to get students physically active and teach vocabulary through kinesthetic participation. There are 12 students and we will be asking parents to sign walking field trip permission slips should we need to walk to nearby fields/courts.
CPS has released the 2017 ESL Summer Support Program application and locations. It runs July 5 to August 4th, Monday through Friday. Interested students Grades 2-7 should email me [email protected]. Applications are due by May 9th.
Description: The English Learner Summer Support Program is a five-week program designed to develop English language proficiency and promote academic literacy development across the content areas for qualifying ELs in Grades 2 through 7. Important info: All locations are at least 6 miles from Ray School and NO transportation will be provided. If you don't drive, the student will be eligible for reduced CTA fares.
